My favorite thing about Shake Shack is that there are so many locations in New York City. I have a rule that I won’t review the same burger twice, unless there are more than one locations. This means I have ample opportunity to review multiple burgers on the Shake Shack menu. Or in today’s case, a burger off the menu. Shake Shack’s so called secret menu has been google-able for years, but recently their own Mark Rosati publicly stated how to get your hands on a Peanut Butter & Bacon burger there. So that’s what I did.
Burger Ordered: Peanut Butter & Bacon Burger
The Taste: So the burger actually ordered was a Shack Burger with bacon, and a side of peanut butter sauce. The peanut butter sauce is available because of Shake Shack’s milkshakes, one would assume. It is very saucy, and much like their cheese it pours with a medium low viscosity over the bacon and patty. I thought it was a fantastic addition/substitution for cheese on the Shack Burger. I’ve only ever eaten one such burger before, and I think I may have liked this one better than that (which inexplicably also had cheddar cheese on it).
Oh and I also tried Shake Shack’s new spicy chicken sandwich and while I liked it a lot, I think their original recipe is superior.
The Verdict: Menu hack (sorry) away, burger lovers. The PB&B Burger at Shake Shack is a lot of fun, and there are definitely other fun funky combos your imagination can come up with.
Shake Shack is located at 215 Murray Street in Manhattan, New York.
