Covina

I wandered the streets on Saturday, looking for a restaurant at which to eat my 400th burger in New York City. To say I came across Covina accidentally would be an understatement. My feet hurt after miles of walking and my dining companion was feeling the same. As we complained, we noticed we were standing in front of a restaurant. A burger was on the menu, so we walked inside. Covina’s brunch menu looked like a lot of fun overall, so I said, “Screw it. Every 100th burger doesn’t have to be a big special event. Let’s just eat it here.” And while there was no event, the burger was top notch.

Burger Ordered: Covina Burger

The Taste:  Topped with special sauce, American cheese, and dashi pickle, this burger had a refreshing, zesty flavor that perked up my weary body. The patty was cooked just right, pink and juicy throughout. The pickle added the perfect acidic flavor to the meal. Many napkins and soaked fries later, I tried my hardest to also eat half of a delicious grilled cheese sandwich, but my stomach was just too stuffed with delectable beef.

The Verdict: This place was a remarkably pleasant surprise, and gets a very high recommendation.

Covina is located at 127 East 27th Street in Manhattan, New York.
